US ASIC house enters European market through the UK
JVD Inc, established in Silicon Valley in 1982, has a long history of success in the custom analogue IC market and ASIC product development, manufacturing and production testing. The company, with 71 patents, is seeking to fill a niche it sees in the European Analogue ASIC market by offering a variety of ASIC design services and manufacturing using boutique analogue fabs in Silicon Valley. JVD differentiates itself by being able to offer products thatother ASIC companies can’t because the technical requirements do not fit into the rigid guidelines of traditional Asian foundries.
The European operation will be run by Nic Houselip. “Nic’s prior sales experience with Dallas Semiconductor, Synergy and most recently Supertex, have given him a broad understanding of the EU market needs, especially for industrial and medical applications,” said Mike VanDierendonck, JVD’s President. “We are excited to be associated with Nic and look forward to expanding our business baseunder his direction.”
